Cellophane film was created quite by accident. It was the result of the work of E. Fielding and M. Chavannes. Initially, the comrades planned to create a textured wallpaper made of plastic, which in the 1960s was considered one of the most used materials. According to the plan, the wall covering should not be deformed under the influence of external factors. The first batch was made by hand. The customer, for whom the project was intended, could not appreciate it.

Fielding decided not to give up. He found another use for his development. Bubble wrap was first put into production in the 1960s. The history of the holiday is no less amusing. A batch of microphones was sent to the radio station and wrapped in plastic. During unpacking, DJs noticed a funny sound. They liked it so much that they decided to come up with a holiday, which they called Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day.

1. The holiday was created in order to pay tribute to bubble wrap producers. Without it, moving would be a more difficult task, as there is a high probability of damage during transportation of things. Delivery companies never worry about the safety of the goods, having previously wrapped them.
2. Bubble wrap is quite often used in cinematography. It fills bags or backpacks to make them voluminous, but almost weightless.
3. Artist B. Hart found a way to use bubble wrap to create paintings. Using a syringe, he fills each cell with paint and makes amazing creations.
