National Sundae Day is celebrated on November 11 every year in the United States. The holiday is dedicated to a wonderful dessert that no American will refuse! The main ingredient in it is ice cream balls, various toppings are added to them: chocolate, jelly, cream, fruits, sweets … It is difficult to list all the tastes. We advise you to try the delicacy right now, if you haven’t already!
History
It is interesting that it is still impossible to say unequivocally about the creator of sanda. There are many applicants for this role, but no one could prove their involvement by 100%! Consider the most common versions.
In 1881, the dessert appeared in Wisconsin. Then two friends (or one of them) decided to add chocolate sauce to ice cream. The result is very pleased! The dish instantly won the love of consumers, but was served exclusively on Sundays. Another version: in 1890, the owner of an establishment in Illinois received an order from fastidious guests for “something unusual.” He created the likeness of a sande and received compliments from satisfied visitors.
Another curious assumption: the dessert was created in 1892 on April 3 in Ithaca. The co-owners of the cafe covered the treat with cherry syrup, candied fruits and called the dish “Cherry Sunday”. And let there be disputes for the right to be called the creator – we love sande for its amazing taste.
