Make A Gift Day is celebrated on December 3rd in the USA. A wonderful date to please your loved ones, because it’s so simple! The purpose of the holiday is to make a present with your own hands. Unfortunately, the tradition is gradually disappearing, because we have a huge selection of shops with finished products. The task of the world is to renew it!
History
Make A Gift Day is an unofficial holiday, but that doesn’t stop it from being fun. Previously, people everywhere gave handmade things and enjoyed the process. Now the situation is completely different: you can buy an expensive piece of jewelry or a phone, but not invest your soul in a gift. Handmade is a completely different matter! This also applies to colorful packaging: it’s so cool to do it, imagining how happy the recipient will be.
The tradition of giving has been around for a long time. The Egyptians gave gifts to the pharaohs in honor of the coronation and seeing them off to the afterlife. We all know about the tradition of blowing out candles on a cake: it came to us from Ancient Greece. Its inhabitants believed that on a birthday, evil spirits fly around the birthday person, trying to harm him. People blew out the candles and made wishes for protection!
