International Day of Education

Education plays an important role not only in the life of everyone but also in the world. To remind people of this, a proposal was made to establish the International Day of Education. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the constitutions of all states include an article that states that every person has the right to education. Unfortunately, not everyone can exercise this right in the modern world.

History

At the end of 2018, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution establishing the holiday. The International Day of Education was first on January 24, 2019.

The establishment of this holiday aims to raise the level of education and interest the younger generation in the pursuit of knowledge, as humanity cannot develop without it.

Every year, the UN considers new opportunities in the educational process. Technological progress does not stand still, and this should be taken into account when developing programs. Adults should not remain indifferent; perhaps a neighboring child does not attend school or frequently misses classes. It is worth discussing this with the child’s parents or guardians. If mutual understanding is not reached, address the problem to the competent authorities.
