Genius Day is an annual American holiday dedicated to Albert Einstein. It is on March 14. This truly talented scientist made many discoveries in various fields and formed the basis on which an entire science, today called quantum physics, grew.
History
Einstein’s birth date was chosen for the Genius Day celebration. On this day in 1879, the future genius of science was born. Albert was born in the German town of Württemberg. From childhood, he showed a thirst for knowledge, which in 1901 allowed him to obtain a degree in physics and mathematics and open the way to teaching. Four years later, his first scientific papers began to appear.
In 1914, Einstein was already working as a professor in Berlin and was actively engaged in science. With the outbreak of WWII, he renounced his German citizenship and moved to the United States. During the war, he went to great lengths to rescue Jewish scholars living in Germany and to help them with their departure. Until the end of his days, Einstein remained faithful to science and worked as a professor at Princeton University.
Interesting facts
- Einstein’s most famous theory is the Theory of Relativity. It played an important role in the creation of quantum physics.
- Thanks to his discoveries, Einstein became of interest to the secret services. The FBI had him under surveillance for over 20 years!
- In total, Einstein has about 300 works in physics, as well as more than 150 books on other scientific fields.
