Collector Car Appreciation Day was initiated in 2009 by the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Action Network (SAN). SAN works to promote pro-collector legislation, defend against regulations that harm the hobby, and provide a voice for over 36 million vintage vehicle fans through more than 100 automotive publications.

Thanks to SAN’s efforts, the U.S. Congress officially recognized Collector Car Appreciation Day in 2010. Since then, the day has continued to grow in popularity, bringing together car lovers from all over the country to honor the legacy and culture of collectible automobiles.
