National Tradesmen Day is an annual holiday dedicated to service workers, such as plumbers, computer scientists, cleaners, and many others. We do not need their services every day, but when something fails, we need to contact a specialist. It is on September 17th.
History
Representatives of working professions in the service sector are specialists who have acquired specific skills. Without them, it is impossible to imagine our daily life. To thank them for their services, National Tradesmen Day was established in 2011. The creator of the holiday was the large company Irwin Trade, which produces tools for a variety of applications.
In the Ancient World, these specialists were called artisans. They were highly valued and most often engaged in the manufacture of household items, as well as military equipment such as swords, armor, or darts. They could make everything needed.
With the development of society, various professions also evolved. The idea of the division of labor was promoted: each person specialized in their own tasks. Today, there is a division of all specialties into two classes: humanitarian (managers, the hotel and restaurant business, office workers) and technical (welders, builders, masons).
Interesting facts
- According to statistical studies, by 2050 there will be a shortage of technical professions.
- People who have mastered technical professions generally have better health due to more physical activity and muscle use.
- An insufficient number of specialists with technical education will negatively affect the global economy, especially in the construction of new facilities.
How to take part
Congratulate acquaintances and friends who work in a technical specialty. Try to master some skills yourself with the help of training videos or special courses: learn how to repair technical appliances, install a faucet in the bathroom, and more.
Publish a post on social media with congratulations and spread the word about this holiday among users.
