History

In 1971, Seattle’s first branded store opened in Pike Place Market. This is a great place to visit. In 1984, the first coffee house opened in America. The idea came from Italy – the brand director visited Italy and decided to serve coffee in the USA in the same way as Italians. In his opinion, America lacked coffeehouse culture. Takeaway arrived at Starbucks in 1994 as many people preferred to drink coffee on the go.
