National Google.com Day is a holiday created in honor of the world’s most popular search engine. Today, there are many useful company services. From a simple search engine, Google has become a huge corporation, whose products are constantly being refined and developed. The holiday is annually on September 15th.
History
The first steps towards the creation of the famous search engine were taken in 1996, when two graduate students at Stanford University studied the features of the functioning of search algorithms. As a result, PageRank was created – the algorithm was able to analyze sites and determine their relevance by the number of links to these resources in the public domain.
Over time, these developments turned into a full-fledged search engine, which was called “BackRub” and was later renamed to the well-known Google. There is an assumption that the two consecutive letters “o” symbolize the endless information on the Internet.
The official registration of the domain “google.com” took place on September 15, 1997. It was this date that was chosen to celebrate National Google.com Day.
