The names for the flower varied, but in the United States in 1945, Robert Pyle named it the “Peace Rose.” This name was chosen in honor of the approaching victory over Nazism and the arrival of long-awaited peace. Thus, this hybrid rose became not only a beautiful flower but also a symbol of peace.
