International Day of Friendship

International Day of Friendship is celebrated every year on July 30th. The holiday was established by the UN and encourages everyone to remember their friends, to thank them for their help, support and joint fun moments. Undoubtedly, this day strengthens unity, happiness and peace. The UN calls on governments, public organizations to join the events, to encourage their holding. The History

Unfortunately, today the world is oversaturated with cruelty, discrimination, divisions against the backdrop of religious and cultural issues. The holiday encourages learning to listen and hear each other, to look for common ground even in disputes and disagreements. People have much more in common than differences, and we are obliged to broadcast kindness, unity, and forget about hatred.

• The first to propose to celebrate the International Day of Friendship was an international organization whose activities are aimed at strengthening peace, culture and friendship. The offer came in 1958.
• Even earlier – in 1930 – the Hallmark company offered postcards, which they offered to send to all friends, to remember loved ones.
• Friendship starts with conversation. Do not be afraid to start a conversation, listen to your interlocutor.
• In some countries, the holiday dedicated to friendship is celebrated in other months – in April, August.

The best way to celebrate this day is to meet friends and hug them, talk, listen. Spend time with loved ones, do a common thing or just take a walk. Take part in events that are probably held near you, meet new people. Of course, send greeting cards to those far away from you.
