Dream Day

Dream Day is an annual American holiday dedicated to the power of dreams. It reminds us that every goal begins with a vision, and every achievement starts with a desire to make that vision real. Success is possible when you keep moving forward and do not give up. The holiday is observed on March 11.

History

Dream Day was created in honor of the birthday of Robert Muller, a remarkable man whose life story inspires belief in the fulfillment of dreams. Born in Belgium in 1923, Muller spent his teenage years during the devastation of WWII. He witnessed firsthand how political conflicts led to immense human suffering. When the United Nations was formed after the war, he made it his dream to join the organization and contribute to global peace.

At age 25, Muller achieved that dream by becoming a member of the United Nations, where he worked for four decades. Drawing on his life experience, he authored numerous writings focused on peace, cooperation, and human potential. In 1986, he became the chancellor of the United Nations University for Peace in Costa Rica, an institution he helped to establish.
