Celebration of Life Day was originally planned as a day for children because, for parents, they are the most valuable thing in life. Later, the holiday began to be associated with kindness, love, and all the good that is present in everyone’s life. In the hustle and bustle, people forget about the most important values, stop enjoying the new day, but time goes by and you need to enjoy every minute.
History
The founder of the holiday was Ronald Reagan. The president was an ardent opponent of abortion, which is why he proposed to establish National Sanctity of Human Life Day in 1984. Much later, the name was changed to Celebration of Life Day.
The holiday continued to be under the two subsequent presidents, but during the presidency of Bill Clinton, it was forgotten for as long as eight years.
Under Donald Trump, the tradition was revived. Some churches even marked the day of life in their calendars, classifying it as a religious day.
Over time, not only the name has changed, but also the meaning of the national day. Nobody places a special emphasis on abortions anymore; Americans try to spend the holiday with their families, devote more time to children, and visit distant relatives. By paying attention to loved ones, a person shows joy in having such a wonderful, friendly family. Even if you don’t see all your loved ones often, you need to appreciate the precious minutes spent together.
