National French Dip Day is celebrated in America on November 12 and is one of the most delicious holidays! Just imagine the smell of a sandwich with fragrant meat … There are a huge number of cooking variations – choose your favorite recipe and mark the date!
National Day is created to commemorate the centenary of the restaurant that first served the sandwich. This happened on November 12, 1908. A client came to the establishment who could not chew dry roast beef, so he asked to moisten the sandwich with meat juice. He liked the result so much that stories about the wonderful dish scattered at the moment: people came to the cafe in droves and ordered only it.
Cole’s Restaurant is located in Los Angeles. Here the idea arose to serve a sandwich with the juices of fried meat. However, there is another place – Philippe’s restaurant, which also claims this title. Now it is already impossible to get to the bottom of the truth, because the establishments were opened in one period.
It is noteworthy that Cole’s was closed for some time. Tourists and gourmets were deeply upset by the inability to visit the famous place. In 2008, the restaurant was opened by another owner, and is not going to close!
