Crackers Over The Keyboard Day is an amazing holiday for everyone who spends a lot of time in front of a computer or laptop monitor. Do you like to crunch crackers at the keyboard? Or perhaps cookies or chips? Admit it or not, your keyboard can tell you what snacks you’ve been having while working, playing, or watching your favorite series!
Although eating at the computer is not the most beneficial habit, many people become so engrossed in what is happening online that they allow themselves to snack and clog the keyboard with crumbs!
This festival of crackers at the computer keyboard was created by two people passionate about creating holidays out of thin air: Thomas and Ruth Roy from Wellcat Holidays. Tom has been making money as an actor and radio talk show host for years and Ruth is an actress, college administrator, and owner of an herbal business. The reason why the Roy couple chose August 28 for Crackers Over The Keyboard Day is unknown, but perhaps it is the day one of them had crumbs falling from their keyboard!
If you’ve tried to shake out the crumbs by flipping the keyboard and you think that you haven’t been completely successful, you can try brushing out the residue using a thin, stiff brush. Alternatively, you can use a hair dryer or a vacuum cleaner for a more radical and effective approach. When cleaning the working side of the keys, be careful with liquids containing alcohol, since they can easily erase the letters and numbers from the keyboard! Before using a cleaning agent, check how the plastic of one of the buttons reacts to it.
How to take part
For the Crackers Over The Keyboard Day, do two simple, useful things:
- Clean the keyboard from excess food supplies.
- Buy more crackers, but try not to eat them all at once – spread them out over a week or so, and use them only for really interesting activities. If you are busy with work, the best option is to refrain from eating at the computer, to keep your keyboard cleaner and yourself slimmer.
