World MS Day
World MS Day is an information event aimed at raising the level of knowledge and awareness about the disease. Also, people are provided with information about the prevention, symptoms, and treatment of the disease.
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease affecting the central nervous system. Its name is associated with the spread of symptoms at the site of the disease. At the same time, multiple sclerosis is not always accompanied by memory loss, but only when the corresponding cells are affected. The problem is that the disease is difficult to diagnose, and it is almost impossible to predict its occurrence in a patient. Every year, multiple sclerosis affects more and more people. At the moment, there are over 2 million people in the world who have been diagnosed with the disease.
World MS Day was founded in 2009. The events were started by the International Federation of Multiple Sclerosis Societies. The main goal is to provide citizens with the necessary information regarding this disease, dispel myths, talk about treatment and prevention. Also, the goal of establishing the holiday is to unify the efforts of national and regional organizations within the framework of the Global Movement against Multiple Sclerosis.
