Western Australia Day is a very important celebration for Australians living in the western part. This territory was seen from a trading ship in 1829. In the same year, the first British colony of Swan River was established here, with the first European settlements.

History

The Swan River Colony was founded by Charles Fremantle, who saw this new coast from his ship in 1829. There Western Australia was founded. 3 years later, a holiday was declared. At first, it was called Foundation Day, but in 2012, it was renamed Western Australia Day. This holiday means a lot to the locals. Their history began in 1829. Western Australia Day is celebrated at the state level. Schools and institutions are closed, people relax and have picnics and delicious dinners. Live music festivals are organized almost all over Australia, with a variety of styles and genres. Usually they’re free, and anyone can attend them.
