The History

In 1898, Edward C. Prescott received a patent for a roller coaster improvement that was implemented on the peninsula of Konijn Eiland. This is not the first design, but Edward tried to make it much more convenient and safer.

Every year the attraction improves, giving visitors crazy emotions! If you ever rode it, then remember the experienced storm of emotions.

Unusual facts about roller coasters:

  • initially one of the very first slides in the USA was used to transport coal, only then they began to be used for entertainment;
  • the highest attraction in the world Kingda Ka is located in Jackson (New Jersey), its height is 140 meters; the fastest in Abu Dhabi, it accelerates in almost 5 seconds to 240 km;
  • famous steel roller coaster engineer Ron Toomer suffered from vestibular problems;
  • “Russian hills” – an ancient analogue of the American ones, they were built of wood and covered with ice. Visitors rode them on sleds or ice blocks.
