National Doll Day
National Doll Day brings together adults and children in the love of dolls. He is loved by collectors, needleworkers and just those who admire the beauty of dolls, whether it’s Barbie from limited editions or hand-sewn rag dolls. Dolls are a whole world, wonderful and multifaceted, in which everyone can find something to their liking.
Very little information is known about the holiday. Among doll lovers, a holiday that is celebrated in June is more popular. It is only clear that National Doll Day has been celebrated since 2011 – the event is not so young.
Traditionally, on this day, social media users publish posts dedicated to dolls.
How to celebrate
Take out your favorite childhood dolls from a distant closet or from the attic. Dive into the memories associated with them. Think about whether to leave them at home, or, like in the Toy Story cartoon, give them to some child who will love them as much as you did as a child. You may decide to move them closer to you – for example, placing them on your bedside table.
If you’re in the doll business, think of a couple of new outfits for your favorites that you’ll buy or sew at your leisure, give them new hairstyles, and arrange a photo shoot. This will please you and at the same time attract new customers.
Read about the varieties of dolls and their history. Some types of such toys are easy to make even for a beginner, and they are hugely popular – for example, Tilda or Raggedy Ann. Starting with simple patterns, you will not notice how you will get a lot of rag friends.
Post a photo of your favorite doll on social media with the holiday hashtag. If you have a lot of followers, this will attract more new people to the event.
