On April 4, on International Carrot Day a well-deserved «tribute» is paid to… the healthy product. It is rich in vitamins for keeping proper eyesight. We often add carrot to soups, cook a side dish, even make invariably tasty healthy desserts.

The History

The holiday appeared in 2003, carrots were honored as an integral part of dietary salads. The main producer is California. Veg harvested in late summer and autumn. Carrots are inexpensive, available in supermarkets. In cooking people use root vegetables, tops — as a treat’s decoration.

Interesting facts

In high season farmers try to deliver the product sooner: it takes a few hours from the moment carrots are harvested to its appearance in store. The safety of vitamins is guaranteed.

  1. Veg can be orange, purple, white. Farmers provide customers carrots of various types.
  2. Everyone cooks the traditional dish: take a deep saucepan, fry garlic, onion, celery. Add carrots, pre-cut into round pieces. Pour chicken or vegetable broth. The finished dish should be eaten in bed or in snug armchair, covered with a blanket, watching favorite TV series or movie. Wear bright socks!
  3. The holiday is celebrated in Europe and Japan.
