International Beer Day
International Beer Day was created so that we can pay tribute to one of the most beloved pleasures of mankind. This day is truly international, because there are hunters everywhere. Many people already drink beer at the end of the working week, so why not set aside one of the Fridays specifically to enjoy it to the fullest?
The first evidence of beer drinking dates back to the 43rd century BC. e. It was used in Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt: it was done by both the nobility and the poor. The Romans preferred wine, but in the Middle Ages brews based on malt and yeast became popular again. Its distribution was due to the poor quality of water: for centuries, people were afraid to use it, preferring to drink “with a degree”. Nowadays, there are varieties of beer drinks for every taste, including those with various flavoring additives.
The idea of the celebration was submitted in 2007 by Jesse Avshalomov, who wished to create a holiday that would unite like-minded people around the world. According to his plan, this day should be congratulated by brewers and everyone who makes, sells or serves intoxicating drinks. The idea turned out to be unexpectedly successful and was quickly picked up by the Americans, and then by citizens of other countries.
- There are about 8,000 breweries in the US.
- There are days dedicated to different types of alcohol in many countries.
- Moderate consumption of hops significantly reduces the risk of kidney stones.
How to celebrate
Spend the evening with your favorite light or dark variety by heading to a bar or hosting a home gathering with friends. Don’t forget to stock up on a variety of snacks. Leave the bartender more tips than usual, congratulate the familiar workers of the industry – they will be very pleased.
