Hobbit Day

Hobbit Day is dedicated to amazing, cute and heroic fairy tale characters. The whole world learned about the Hobbits thanks to J. R. R. Tolkien. He presented the characters as shy, peaceful, but party-loving. If September 22 is on the calendar, it’s time to give free rein to fantasies and go on a journey.

History

Statistically, most fans of The Lord of the Rings saga find the Hobbits funny and call them their favorite characters. It is noteworthy that even those who have not read the books or watched the films know about the Hobbits. Perhaps the best words about these heroes are from Gandalf the Grey: “They are truly amazing!” Not surprisingly, the Hobbits have their own personal day on the holiday calendar.

Interesting Facts

  • The first part of the Lord of the Rings saga was released in December 2001, and the film The Hobbit was released in December 2012.
  • In just one day of its premiere, The Hobbit grossed a record $37 million.

How to take part

Spend the day like a real Hobbit – eat six times a day, organize gatherings with friends, keep up a lively conversation and go on a trip. Do you remember what kind of peaceful occupation the Hobbits devote their time to? Give gifts, following their example. It can be a small souvenir.
