National Student Athlete Day

National Student Athlete Day is an American holiday dedicated to student athletic teams. History

The first student athletic competitions began in 1852. At that time two major American educational centers, Harvard University and Yale University, initiated the organization of internal and intercollegiate competitions.

In 1906, student athletics gained momentum. It was decided to create the IAAS, which was renamed the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) four years later. In today’s world much attention is paid to the athletic side of education at institutions of higher learning in the United States.
