The history of National Day of Encouragement begins in 2007, when a group of enterprising students from the University of Harding proposed the idea of ​​a social project, which later turned into a full-fledged holiday. The guys believed that the lack of support and encouragement of people is a factor that worsens their emotional state and devalues ​​the work done.

In addition, the date of the holiday is connected with the previous day, because on September 11, 2001, a terrible tragedy occurred when terrorists on hijacked planes rammed the famous Twin Towers.

At the official level of the city, the holiday was approved on August 22, 2007. The first celebration took place on September 12 of the same year. A little later, it was introduced into the Arkansas state bill, and in 2007, the US President officially proclaimed the national celebration of Support Day.
