History

American pilot Gill Robb Wilson returned from Germany in 1936 and reported the grave news that war was being prepared. His proposal to mobilize civil aviators was met with unanimous approval. The first air reserve was established in 1938 in Ohio and other crews soon followed suit.

During World War II, German boats headed towards the east coast, posing a serious threat. Initially, the requests of the pilots were refused, but as the situation became more dire, permission was granted and the young formation went to carry out their tasks. We now know that victory was paid for with many lives, and we must never forget the heroes who sacrificed themselves for the future of generations.
