American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Day is an American holiday dedicated to the protection of animals. History

The history of the holiday begins in 2006, when it was initiated by the ASPCA. Its main activities are to monitor situations of animal cruelty, detect real cases of abuse, eradicate them (with subsequent punishment of the owners). The police can be involved in the rescue of animals. In addition, the organization carries out annual large-scale information campaigns aimed at eradicating cruelty to animals.

The creation of the ASPCA occurred in 1866 thanks to a man named Henry Berg. Three years earlier he had been on a long trip to Russia, and on the way rescued a fallen horse that had been beaten by its owner. What he saw impressed Henry very much, and on his arrival in the United States, he created an organization for the protection of animals. The emblem depicts an angel protecting a fallen, exhausted horse from man.
